“It was in an era where you felt dwarfed by pop stars and superstars. “It was just in a different era,” he said. He noted that the pop landscape was a completely different beast in 2010. It was really kind of about “how big can we look?” But it was definitely probably the one project that maybe had the least personal touches. I just wanted to show Toronto like, “Look who I got on my album.” Yeah, I think I made the majority of that album on a tour as well. Just being from where I was from and stuff. I think I felt a lot of pressure to prove that I knew big, famous people. That was probably the only one of my albums that was remotely influenced by where I was at in my career at the time.
